MEAD is happy to announce the recruitment of Information & Advice Development Officer Sui Juan Wen (Carol Wen) to replace Chester Wong. Carol has started with MEAD on 23rd of January 2012.
The purpose
of her post is to provide multi-lingual and culturally sensitive information,
advice and development support to the Chinese population in Perth and Kinross
to enable increased access to mainstream statutory and voluntary services and
to raise awareness of issues facing the Chinese community, amongst the Community
Planning Partners with a particular
focus on supporting unpaid carers and individuals affected by disability,
long-term health conditions and older age.

On Friday the 17th of February MEAD will be holding a meeting with Perth & Kinross Councillors Archie Mclellan and Paul Graham to look at MEAD's activity and discuss future areas of work.

Further from the Carers Conference which was organized in Partnership with Housing & Community Care and MEAD David Burke - Director of Housing & Community Care is visiting MEAD to look at ways of how to further develop Carers spot for BME Communities and how his department can support MEAD in delivering service to BME Carers.

Perth Polish Support Group; Mead Project would like to invite everybody
to our Christmas Eve Celebration that will take place in McDiarmid Park, at Crieff Road in Perth on
Tuesday, 6 December at 6pm.
Program includes Polish traditional food, Christmas cards and other attractions related to Polish tradition. Younger children (up to age 12) will enjoy disco and surprise visit from Santa. With new Rural Outreach Project we extend our service to: Crieff, Kinross, Coupar Angus/Blairgowrie and Auchterarder. In newly opened drop in offices in those areas you can receive information, advice and support.
